Resolutions • KALAMA SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 402 548 CHINA GARDEN ROAD KALAMA WA 98625 PHONE: (360) 673 -5225 • RESOLUTION NO. 1997/98 -7 Transportation Vehicle Fund Levy WHEREAS, an emergency will confront the Kalama School District in the matter o f sufficient funds to operate the school district on a sound financial basis during the coming 1999 and 2000 school years, and WHEREAS, it is necessary to ask the voters of the district to provide through a special Transportation Vehicle levy election, the funds necessary provide ' required school bus purchases for the Kalama, Woodland, Ridgefield, and LaCenter School Transportation Cooperative. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of Kalama School District No. 402, Cowlitz County, State of Washington: That a special school election by mail be held on the 3rd day of February, 1998, for the purpose of submitting to the electors of said school district, for their approval or rejection, the question of whether or not a two -year proposition shall be approved calling for a special transportation vehicle fund levy of a n estimated $.086 per one - thousand dollars of assessed valuation within the district for the purpose of providing $50.000 to be collected in .1999, and a n estimated $.086 per one - thousand dollars of assessed valuation within the district for the purpose of providing $50.000, to be collected in 2000 for the Transportation Vehicle Fund of the district, to be used to purchase school buses for the Kalama, Woodland, Ridgefield, and LaCenter School Transportation Cooperative. Section 1. That the "ballot title" of the Transportation Vehicle Fund proposition shall be as follows: PROPOSITION NO. 2 KALAMA SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 402 TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE FUND LEVIES To meet the transportation needs in the Kalama, Woodland, Ridgefield, and LaCenter School Transportation Cooperative, shall the Kalama School District No. 402 levy the following excess taxes for the purpose of replacing a n expiring transportation vehicle fund levy, for the purchase of school buses, on all taxable property within the district: Approximate Levy Rate Collection Year per $1.000 of Assessed Value Levy Amount 1999 $.086 $50,000 2000 $.086 $50,000 All as specified in district Resolution No. 1997/98- YES { } NO { } Section II. That the Secretary of the aforesaid District be directed to make th e necessary arrangements with the County Auditor of Cowlitz County for holding this special election; and that the election be conducted by mail ballot. NOW THERE-TORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of Kalama School District No. 402, Cowlitz County, State of Washington: That a special school election by mail be held on the 3rd day of February, 1998, for the purpose of submitting to the electors of said school district, for their approval or rejection, the question of whether or not a two -year proposition shall be approved calling for a special levy of an estimated $1.45. per one - thousand dollars of assessed valuation within the district for the purpose o f providing $845.947 to be collected in 1999, and an estimated $1.50 per one - thousand dollars of assessed valuation within the district for the purpose o f providing $871.947, to be collected in 2000 for the General Fund of the district, to be used for operational purposes. Section 1. That the "ballot title" of the General Fund proposition shall be as follows: PROPOSITION NO. 1 KALAMA SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 402 SCHOOL MAINTENANCE & OPERATION LEVIES To meet the educational needs of students in the Kalama School District No. 402, shall the Kalama School District No. 402 levy the following excess taxes for t h purposes of replacing an expiring levy, for educational General Fund maintenance and operation expenses, on all taxable property within the • District: Approximate Levy Ratc Collection Year per $1.000 of Assessed Value Levy Amount 1999 $1.45 $845,947 2000 $1.50 $871,947 • All as specified in district Resolution No. 1997/98 - YES { ) NO { ) Section 11.
